This amazes me every time i watch it I'm not being lazy when i say ... Just watch it and you will instantly understand !

SEE !!

My taste buds ... music wise that is !

As you can see, due to my previous post my music taste varies. I'm one of those people who listen to music to suit the mood that i am in or if I'm thinking about a specific topic i try to pick music that relates to it. Really works. I have an ipod and do not no where i would be with out it there isn't a day that doesn't go past where i do not listen to it. I have to say though on the other hand i do not watch music videos ? I'm not interested by them at all, i mean i do not dislike them of course, but i would not be fussed if they no longer existed.

I love this music video and always have since i found it last year. Although the song isn't my favourite the animation is extremely heart felt and i love the use of stick men. Also as the background is white it portrays youth and innocence i feel. I love the independent raw feel this music video has. I must stress this isn't the real music video, just and independent copy. The simplicity of this is incredible but yet so effective. The show of young lost, almost childhood love and friendship. I would love to create something on the lines of animation, but i am only looking i have not yet made up my mind and of course this is just to show my favourite music videos.

When searching for my music videos via '' I'm automatically drawn to the independent low budget videos, this is due to the fact i feel the artist themselves has taken more time in thinking how there music video is going to be produced other than relying on somebody else to cook up the idea.

So what is a music video ?

A music video is a short film or video that accompanies a complete piece of music/song. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. For example, you may be watching a music channel and come across a music video consisting of a new artist, then buy in to them. So it could also be argued that music videos are used a as tool for recognition.

Music videos use a wide range of styles of film making techniques, including animation, live action filming, documentaries, and non-narrative approaches such as abstract film. Some music videos blend different styles, such as animation and live action. I find independent music videos, the 'low' budget ones the more appealing to me but then that might be to do with the type of music i love and listen to.

For this project i have to create a music video. This must demonstrate technical skills and conceptual understanding, towards how music videos are made. I must show an in depth understanding to my chosen artist, and have a critical evaluation to the final product.
